Giovanni Contardi is an Italian artist internationally recognised for his large-scale Rubik’s Cube mosaics. His work combines technical precision with a distinctive visual language - each piece handcrafted using original Rubik’s Cubes and framed by Italian artisans.

Starting his journey in 2009 by becoming a world-class speedcuber (a discipline focused on solving the Rubik’s Cube in the shortest time possible), Giovanni broke three world records - including solving the cube one-handed in just 9.43 seconds in 2012.

He began exploring mosaics in 2013, and by 2018, his work had become a full-time artistic practice, fueled by international attention and celebrity support.

His installations are permanently exhibited at the Disney Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel at Disneyland Paris and the Rossini National Museum in Italy. He has played a key role in bringing “Rubik Cubism” to global attention - even earning a mention in the official biography of Ernő Rubik, the inventor of the cube.

Today, Giovanni creates artworks for private collectors, exhibitions, and public spaces worldwide.
